about us

Irma Svanadze

Native of Georgia, Irma has studied in several European Conservatories before moving to the USA. Irma, like Rudolf, pursued her studies both at Indiana University South Bend and Michigan State Universities. Irma holds master’s degree along with an Artist and Performer’s Diploma from IUSB. At MSU, she studied her Doctorate in Musical Arts. Throughout her studies Irma toured extensively throughout Europe and the US with a world-famous group of fellow pianists, “Toradze Piano Studio.”

Irma first began to mix business with pleasure, overseeing and running her own piano studio while based in Indiana. She continued teaching and managing piano studios in Michigan, Nevada, and California.

In 2010 Irma decided to move back to Georgia, switching careers and starting a microfinance company, GeoCapital. GeoCapital quickly grew into the largest company of its kind in the country, to the extent that Georgia’s president, Mikheil Saakashvili, attended the opening of its central branch in the city of Kutaisi. In only two years the company’s workforce swelled from 2 to 150 people with 15 branches spread throughout the country.

In addition, Irma founded the Non-Government Organization, “GeoCapital Education,” the only NGO in Georgia offering free training skills in financial literacy and job acquisition, using Harvard University graduates to teach Georgian coaches, garnering national media attention. Irma currently serves as a board member for several prominent Georgian companies while also co-founding start-ups in the US.
